In September of 2004, Freedom Ministries began Project Set Free at the Larned Facility. Under the direction of Judy VonFeldt this program has seen tremendous results. It was housed in the minimum
unit, and has been entirely volunteer staffed.
Under the direction of Judy Vonfeldt, this program has seen tremendous results, and shows itself to be a great testimony for the need,
and the desire for help from both the students, and the volunteers that work at this program.
It began with just 8 volunteers taking training at the Larned facility, and has grown to many . It has an enrollment of more than 40 students from the Larned facility, which is nearly 1/4 of the minimum
facility population.
Life skills helps are done on a continual basis nightly, and a service is coordinated weekly by David Spare. Many men have completed the program and are now able to apply what they have learned to better their lives and become closer to the Lord, their
peers, and their families.
We have received positive feedback from many of those involved who are glad their life has been affected by this program, and expressing much thanks for the help they have been given.
We want to thank all of those who are such a needed part of this program

Teaching life skills from a biblical emphasis, Freedom Ministries of Kansas, Inc. is doing a great job of helping incarcerated men acquire the necessary skills they need.

Judy VonFeldt - Coordinator of Set Free

J.B. - I think it is an excellent program.

R.S. - I have not been here very long at all but it is very uplifting. Just to get away from all the
typical prison lingo
and hear the word of God.

Rob S. - It gave me hope and life back to me. I see clearly what I was doing wrong in life.
I found God and know I will do what’s right for him
and me when I get out. Thanks for the guidance
